Production Description
From multi award-winning filmmaker Richard B. Pierre, whose shorts and documentaries have aired on TVO, CBC, BET+, and Paramount+ comes Trigger Figure. Pulled from real issues around racism in his own Toronto community, Pierre confronts racist objects in this dramatic silent thriller.
After stumbling upon a racial caricature lawn ornament, a seemingly docile middle-aged Black woman begins to lash out in increasingly violent ways.
Like Supacell meets The Boys. The heroine is your rich aunty who's super funny and sweet, but today…today she snapped and triggered some deadly powers!
This is a five-minute silent film. Actors must communicate through physicality and facial expression, without stunts.

JADA POWERS (LEAD)
Female, Black.
A mild-mannered every woman. On this day, she chooses to not ignore her daily injustices, but rather she confronts and obliterates them. Must convey a range of emotions with a single deadly glance. LEAD
WALT FLECK (SOC)
Male, Late 40s, White.
A man with severe anger management issues whose explosive rage is short-lived in this film. Picture Michael Douglas in ‘Falling Down.’ He’s mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
AMY FORREST (SOC)
Female, Late 30s, White.
A woman with a killer sense of style who moves through the world with cool ease and is well aware of how much power she has. In another life, she could play the steely-eyed villain.

A shy, nerdy type who ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A meek turncoat who will do anything to save his skin.
