Synopsis
Isoka returns to her religious community, in an attempt to understand the fits her sister had when they first immigrated as a child. A university student and the “rebellious” youngest child of an immigrant African family. NIKE (Principal)
Female, early to mid 20s, Black.

ANYA (Actor)
Female, mid to late 20s, BIPOC.
Visibly and unabashedly queer, Anya is sweet, gentle, and thoughtful. She holds a mirror to Isoka, sees her beyond the confines of her family and past. Anya is a necessary support, a grounding anchor.
MOTHER (Principal)

A sure woman, sharp, vocal and direct. A critical, traditional woman. oblivious to the pain and passions her children feel.
FATHER (Principal)
Male, 50s to 60s, Black.
A ghost but critical and felt man, haunting voice and presence. An unceasing exhaustion carried in his bones, voice and conversation, ultimately a storyteller.
SISTER (Principal)
Female, early to late 30s, Black.
Isoka’s older sister who has an aged harshness about her. She’s less enthused about Isoka’s descent into their past and what she endured in their childhood. She is tired and angry but has taken steps to find peace in her life.
